Last month I picked up a handful beauty products that I've fallen in love with so for my first beauty post of 2017, I thought I would share them with you! Instead of featuring the products in a random order, they're listed below as a "skin care routine" starting with a cleansing gel, moving onto an eye cream, moisturizer and lastly, a hand cream.
La Mer Cleansing Gel
First and foremost, I always cleanse my face and recently I've been loving this bad boy from La Mer. At first it has a gel-like consistency, but when you mix it with a few drops of water it turns into a foam with the perfect silky consistency. As much as I love oil or gel cleansers, I always find gel to foam or cream to foam cleansers the most satisfying!
Another thing that's awesome about this cleanser is that it doesn't strip the moisture out of your skin. As I'm sure you know, this is a huge red flag for me when it comes to testing out new cleansers because I hate when my skin feels dry/tight...Actually, I can't stand it! So when I tested out this product and it left my skin looking and feeling smooth and hydrated, I knew it was a winner. On another note I'm obsessed with the packaging and size of this product. So far I've been using it twice a day for around two months (usually one pump each time I use it), and I've barely made a dent. Considering this fact, it's a great bang for your buck and is a great way to get introduced to the brand.
Tom Ford Anti-Fatigue Eye Gel
After I cleanse, I always use a toner (check out my post on Son & Park's Beauty Water), then I apply eye cream. Recently I've been loving this one from Tom Ford because the consistency is light, yet hydrating. Also, when it's applied using the cool metal applicator I found that it absorbed into my skin immediately and de-puffed my under-eye bags quite well...We all have them at some point!
On another note, if you have dry under eyes or dry skin in general, I suggest you use this product in the spring and summer. It is hydrating, but it isn't as moisturizing as an eye product with a cream/thicker consistency. Considering this factor, it isn't the best eye cream I've ever used but it definitely does the job and I'll keep using it to the very last drop.
Créme De La Mer Moisturizing Cream
For years I've heard other bloggers and beauty junkies on YouTube rave about this moisturizer, but to be honest I've been far too scared to bite the bullet and purchase it for myself. However now that I've been using it for a month or so, I'm hooked! As a matter of fact, this has to be the best moisturizer I've ever used. Why you ask? Because it does exactly what it claims to do on the packaging. It moisturizes to perfection, leaves my skin feeling plump, radiant and when I use it as my nighttime cream, it literally changes the texture and overall appearance of my skin. There's very few (if any) moisturizers I've tried in the past that have this effect.
If you're thinking about purchasing this cream, also keep in mind to use a small amount and warm it up with your fingertips before you apply it. I noticed when I warmed it up for a few seconds, it sunk into my skin faster. I also found that I used less product as well because it spread easier.
Byredo Sude Hand Cream
After I've cleansed and applied toner, eye cream and a moisturizer, I always lather on hand cream. A few months ago I reviewed a hand cream from Jo Malone that I adore, but I have to say that I like this one even better. Not only does it moisturize incredibly well, but it isn't greasy. I don't care if it's the best hand cream in the world. If it has a greasy texture, I won't use it!
Also because this is a Byredo product, it smells HEAVENLY. After I wash my hands with soap and hot water a few times the fragrance is still left on my hands, which I love! Last but not least, not only does this product appeal to every minimalist lover because of the packaging, but it also comes in a wide variety of fragrances. Obviously the one I picked up is in the "Suede" fragrance, but there's plenty of other options as well.
