What I've realized about the fragrances that I pick up, is that no two are alike. I don't like buying fragrances with similar scents, and I don't like hoarding colognes if they’ll sit in my apartment and collect dust. That being said, the two fragrances I picked up from Commodity recently are unlike any other that I've ever owned, which is why I love them so much! Here are my thoughts on each scent…
This fragrance is my favourite of the two. It smells warm, slightly sweet and has notes of bergamot, juniper berries, camphor, amber, sandalwood, vanilla, Haitian vetiver, tonka bean and nubian musk. Now I know comprehending how a fragrance smells without testing it yourself is hard, but trust me, this one is unique. The vanilla notes, in combination with the amber gives it a sexy vibe that I would compare to Black Orchid by Tom Ford. If you've smelled that fragrance, you definitely know what I mean.
Besides the scent and the pretty packaging, I'm also thoroughly impressed with the longevity (the same goes for Moss). One spritz on my wrist and neck is all I need to smell amazing all day long. However because this is an eau de parfum, I'm not surprised! If it didn't last all day, that would definitely be a red flag.
*The 10ml versions I'm featuring in this post are $28. Considering these scents are super unique, it's a good bang for your buck.
Moss is part of their Black Collection, which means that it’s a little more complex and moody than the fragrances in their White Collection. Having smelled and tested out one from each line, I can definitely say that they're two different "beasts".
Moss has notes of Italian bergamot, elemi, eucalyptus, oak moss, orange blossom, cashmere woods, white musk, cedar wood, amber, ozone and petitgrain. I know these notes sound quite complex, but they create the perfect fresh, yet super earthy scent. Funny enough, every time I wear this fragrance I'm reminded of my hometown in Alberta after a heavy rainfall. I don't know about you, but when I'm able to associate a scent to a specific memory, it makes me love it even more.
If you're on the hunt for a luxe fragrance but don't want to break the bank, I highly recommend you check out Commodity's mini fragrances! In addition to the two I've featured in this post, they also have plenty more that you can check out here.
