For the longest time, I wrote posts because I wanted to stick to my schedule of uploading twice a week. This was great, but I found between juggling school, my personal life and blogging, my written content suffered. So much so that I was scared to go through my old posts and read what I wrote! I wasn't proud of what I was writing and that feeling killed me.
Towards the end of 2016, something clicked in my head and I decided enough was enough. I wanted to speak my mind more on the blog, share my experiences and write about what I'm going through. Yes as a blogger, but also in general! Looking back, my main source of inspiration to "find my voice again" stemmed from some of my favourite bloggers in the UK. Shout out to Lydia Elise Millen and Victoria from In The Frow! For years I watched their videos on YouTube and read their blogs religiously. What continues to strike me about their content is that yes, they are fashion, beauty and travel bloggers, but they're much more than that. They showcase their life, their experiences, share their tips and tricks and give us (their readers & followers), a sneak peek at what's going on in their lives. This includes the good, the bad and even the ugly that most fashion and beauty bloggers don't really talk about.
Considering one of my goals for 2017 is to continue to build a more personal connection with you guys, I thought it was important that I tell you all of this. Ultimately transparency and honesty is best policy and it helps me sort out my thoughts sharing them with you on the blog...Happy Monday!
