A few weeks ago I spent 24 hours in NYC with Herbal Essences to learn more about their new collection that's formulated with bio:renew (I'll explain more about this later in the post). In addition to myself and the lovely team who organized the trip, I was joined by my BFF Nathalie from WoahStyle.com and a handful of other media guests from Toronto.
Upon arriving in NYC, we hopped in a car and made our way to The Bowery Hotel. Once we checked in and dropped off our bags, Nathalie and I headed out to explore and take a few outfit pics before the event. You can check out the full posts here:
After we got back to the hotel and met up with the rest of the group, we made our way to a studio space to learn about the bio:renew products from the Herbal Essences team and celebrity hair stylist, Charles Baker Strahan.
Before I continue on with the rest of the post, here's a little explanation about what bio:renew is and why I've grown to love this line of products...
Bio:renew is a a new innovation that was created by Herbal Essences that revives lacklustre hair and protects it from harmful elements that we encounter on a daily basis. This is thanks to ingredients like sea kelp and aloe that nourish your hair, which makes it soft and smooth. In addition, all of the bio:renew products contain a key ingredient called Histidine. What this ingredient does is trap and essentially neutralize any damaging free radicals that build up in our hair that can cause it to weaken.
Aside from the new bio:renew formula itself, I pleasantly surprised that they released various ranges of products. A few examples are their Coconut Milk range, Passion Flower & Rice Milk range, Argan Oil of Morocco range, etc. This means you can choose a line that best suits your hair and the results you're looking for. Along with the shampoos and conditioners that I love, they also developed bio:renew styling products like a Flexible Styling Mousse and Cucumber & Green Tea Dry Shampoo!
Last but not least, I have to address something...Herbal Essences products aren't just for women. I remember using them when I was a little kid and I'm happy to report that I've been using them religiously since I got back from the trip. So far my favourites are the Argan Oil of Morocco shampoo & conditioner and the Flexible Aairspray. The shampoo and conditioner keep my hair feeling super hydrated, silky and shiny, while the Flexible Airspray keeps my styled hair in place, but with a flexible and soft touch.
The morning after the event, Nathalie made her way down to my room and we ordered an amazing breakfast spread that included: Pancakes (with butter and syrup of course), asparagus eggs benedict, a fruit and yogurt bowl, and tons of coffee. Considering we were up till 2:30 or 3:00 a.m. chatting up a storm the night before, the caffeine was definitely needed!
After our epic breakfast, we headed out to snap a few more outfits photos, then headed over to by CHLOE in SoHo. I've seen other bloggers like Aimee Song rave about it on social media so we wanted to put it to test it out for ourselves...All I'm going to say is that it was so amazing Nathalie chowed down on my burger before I did, left lipstick stains on my bun and continued to eat her burger LOL. Long story short, we both gave it the Global Garçon x WoahStyle stamp of approval! Here's a map to you show you where it is...
Well friends, this concludes another travel post! I had the best time learning about Herbal Essences' new line of bio:renew products and of what made it even better was that I got to experience everything with my best friend! Until next time NYC...
This post is in collaboration with Herbal Essences, however the thoughts, opinions and photos are my own.
