I never pass up the opportunity to getaway on a mini staycation in my own city. It gives me a chance to relax, recharge, and fuel my creative energy. Two weekends ago, I stayed at Thompson Toronto to experience everything the hotel has to offer. From learning how to make a selection of their signature cocktails to sipping on a $1,000+ bottle of wine, I experienced it all! Here's a little recap of my experience...
I arrived at the hotel sporting a classic grey tee, my favourite bomber jacket, and a pair of white distressed denim. If you checked out my last outfit post, you'll probably notice that I have the same pair of jeans in green as well! My theory is, if you find a piece you love, buy it in two colours.
What I'm Wearing:
When I checked in, I threw everything on the bed and opened the goodie bag Saje was kind enough to leave in my room. The first product is an Energy Revitalizing Mist and the second product is a "Pocket Farmacy". When I opened the kit, I was a little confused but after reading the booklet I realized each essential oil targets a specific concern. For example, one oil is used to treat headaches and another is used to help reduce stress. I've never seen anything like this so I was pretty excited when I opened it!
Ok now I have to admit something...I was so excited during the cocktail making class later that evening, I forgot to take photos! Long story short, we learned how to whip up a few of their signature cocktails and even got the opportunity to sip on some fancy wines. If I remember correctly, we sampled a red wine that they sell for over $1,000 a bottle. We also sampled one of their cocktails that's made with cognac and Dom Pérignon...I felt spoiled!
After cocktail hour we headed up to the rooftop bar and learned how to make sushi cones by Thompson Toronto's executive chef, Kevin Sinclair.
10 Hours Later...
The morning after our evening filled with cocktails, good company and one too many laughs, I woke up and ordered a s#*t ton of room service. Shortly after I stuffed my face (the itis was real), I packed my bag, checked out and enjoyed the rest of my weekend!
Fruit and coffee is always a good idea, but the chocolate chip pancakes were bomb!
Before I end this post, I have to thank Thompson Toronto for having me! I had the best time discovering what the hotel has to offer and loved that I was able to do so alongside a handful of amazing bloggers and influencers from Toronto.
