How to Save Money for Luxury Goods
While I was growing up my grandpa used to tell me, "It's not about how much money your make, it's about how you save it." Now that I'm almost 23 years old, I couldn't agree with this statement more. It's a philosophy I've followed since I was a kid and here I am continuing to manifest this into my day-to-day life today! The reason why I'm sharing this with you is because I've been asked quite a lot since I started Global Garçon about how I save money for the luxury items, whether it be clothing, accessories or jewelry.
I want to start off by saying that money management and saving is absolutely essential. Spend within your means, put a portion of your pay cheque into your savings account and always be aware of how much you're spending at all times. Secondly, try your best to choose quality over quantity. Instead of buying several pieces at stores like Zara, save your money and invest in one or two really good quality pieces. Although, I want to clarify that there's absolutely nothing wrong with shopping at stores like Zara because I have a ton of their clothing in my wardrobe too! All I'm saying is be mindful of how much money you're spending at fast fashion stores because their pieces are getting more expensive and the quality is continuing to decrease.
Next, take advantage of sales! I'm not afraid to admit that I love a good sale because you can score items for a fraction of the price that you've already had your eye on. A perfect example is the Acne Studios sweater I'm wearing. The original price was around $600 and I picked it up after the holidays for just over $300. Considering how much I've worn it already, I definitely got my moneys worth and I'll continue to do so season after season! Another really great example is my Valentino clutch. The original price was between $600-$700 and I got it for just under $150 at Holt Renfrew during their sale.
These are just a handful of ways I save money for luxury items and I hope you found some, if not all of the key points I shared in this post helpful or relatable. Don't forget to leave me a comment below and share your tips on how you save money for luxury fashion items, travelling or whatever you're interested in!
